Radfan Tourist Agency established in 1994 is owned and run by local Yemeni staff. We are dedicated to introducing visitors to our magnificent country and all it has to offer. We would like to share with you the many hidden treasures of Yemen; a civilization that dates back more than 3000 years which can be witnessed in the ancient architecture of towns such as old Sana'a.

Money

Currency in Yemen is the Yemeni Rial.

Visa ATM services are available in major cities.

Foreign exchange services are available; Best rates and ease of transaction are in US Dollars and Euros.

Payment by credit card is rarely accepted.

Travelers cheques are not advisable.

Religion

The major religion throughout Yemen is Islam.

Please respect Islamic traditions;

Appropriate dress; for women, arms and legs should be covered.

During Ramadan eating, drinking and smoking in public is impolite.

Climate

Climate in Yemen varies across the country and seasons. Summer (May - August) Winter (October - March) Monsoon (March/April and August/September) Short but heavy rain especially in the afternoon.

Desert: Dry and hot. Temperatures reach 45 degrees in the summer and 30 - 35 degrees in the winter.

Tihama and Indian Ocean: Summer temperature reaches 40 degrees and humidity is high. Winter temperature 30 - 35 degrees humidity is low, temperature drops at night.

Mountains: Summer daytime temperature reaches 30 degrees. Winter temperatures reach 25 degrees. At night temperatures can drop to freezing particularly at elevations above 3000m
